Hyperx Cloud 2 problem

Hello I just bought a hyperx cloud 2 cause of the good reviews but im not happy with it. I played with a steelseries siberia v2 for years and I could hear everything in csgo/call of duty 2. The problem I encounter now is that I cant hear people close to me etc, I dont hear footsteps good as I used to be. The sound sounds are so dull and static. Explosives sound really loud for some reason also

Im using the usb plugin on the hyperx
p.s. I just ordered a 4-jack splitter cause I wanna try it on my jacks plugin. If its not fixed I think im gonna return it. Can anybody help me what the problem is or recommend me a headset that is also good for lans. I go to a lan also soon

I have a Hyperx Cloud 2, I kind of have the same problem as you if the 7.1 Mode is on, if you look at the USB controller the 7.1 mode is on if the light on the middle is red. I prefer actually using the Jack cable straight to my Sound card (Motherboard) and setting on Realtek HD audio mannager my prefered equalizer, more bass less of that etc...

Its like I dont hear depth. Everything is really the same volume. No highs etc.

Is the sound with the splitter better than the usb?

On my case it´s a bit better because the Sound chip on my motherboard is quite good, the biggest advantage is that I can set my own Equalizer, and with USB you can´t you need to stick with the Factory one if guess, or there may be a software i´m not sure

EDIT: Wow it may sound crazy but maybe I found a solution :lol:

Try updatign the firmware it maybe that you got an old version USB Sound card and just needs an update, my was definitly good out of the box.

Edit2: I looked at my Firmware and I never updated anytthing before, it came out of the box with version 0005
