Hi there, I just attempted my first PCBuild and there is an issue.
I have:
ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z
AMD FX 6300
Gigabyte gtx 970
PSU is Corsair CX600.
(I am using my old hdd so i have files and windows.)
My issue is that the fans are not spinning. I turn on the system for the first time, i got into windows, log in see everything fine, but the only fan spinning is my rear exhaust. I have a fractal r5 case and im pretty sure i plugged in the fans correctly, my concern is that my psu does not have an 8 pin connector. I plugged in the 24-pin, 4 pin, and another 4 pin toward the middle but no 8 pin as the manual instructed. Only the bottom left corner of my motherboard has res LED lights on. I have a corsair h105 aio cpu cooler but the fans arent spinning. Do i need to adjust power somewhere or how do i make sure i get everything working? Thanks in advance.

Hi TrueChef :)

You must populate both 24pin and 8pin connections or the system will not boot. The 8pin connection is located top left of MB (page 1.6 in your manual).
The 4pin to the top right is there to assist the CPU when Overclocking and it is also recommended to have this connected.
Do not confuse the 4pin EZ_PLUG connection as this is for multiple GPUs and located mid way to the left.

You have a Qcode led located near the MB Start switch that is used for trouble shooting. If the system fails to pass post cycle then this readout can help to trace the problem.

EDIT: Couple of other observations re your build. You are using a Corsair CX600 which is as basic a PSU as you can get. It is not modular and may not have a dedicated...

Also if you are using your HDD from another system then you may have issues. It is best to clean install your OS in UEFI mode.
