UEFI freezing before I can update it

I just built my first gaming pc a few weeks ago so forgive me if there is something obvious I could be missing. I got a 6700k and Asus Z170-A motherboard last month but was able to exchange them for the 7700k and z270 when those came out. Everything worked fine on the old system, but I figured I was still within my return period so what the hell. I transplanted the CPU into the Z170 at first while waiting for the 270 and left all other components the same and everything worked like a charm. I swapped out the motherboard when the 270 came in a few days later but now on the z270 the uefi freezes up any time I try to update it or change any settings really, even just moving the mouse a bit or touching the arrow keys to fast will do it. It also occasionally crashes in the screen that says press F2 or DEL or load bios before it tries to boot to my ssd. When it does boot to Windows the only troubling thing I notice is that HWMonitor says that my VCORE voltage is going as high as 2.5v even though every other program I've looked at the voltage in says it is within acceptable ranges. There is a bios update available but it crashes before I can run it. I asked around on other forums and decided it was probably a bad motherboard but today I got the replacement Z270-A I ordered and it is doing the exact same thing, so in my limited knowledge I am at a loss. My other specs are an Asus GTX 1070 Dual, an EVGA Supernova 550w G2 psu and a Samsung 850 evo ssd if it makes any difference. Everything in the BIOS is set to default. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this I would massively appreciate it.

Ok, tried to reinstall windows and it still happened. So I tried to update the bios again and it started for the first time but now it is stuck saying processing and has been for about 30 minutes. Not sure if I should power off or not.

Oh, no. Don't turn it off or power it off, you will kil the BIOS in that way. And what Mb do you get? Is it the asus brand? May check the MB manual to see it can supports ASUS USB BIOS FlashBack feature or not.

I appreciate the help, I figured I would post this in case anyone else with the problem finds this thread. I removed my GPU and plugged my monitor straight in to the motherboard and the BIOS ran just fine. Was able to make all the changes I needed to and update it but it still freezes when I have the GPU plugged in.
