computer turns itself on and off with no output

After turning it on, my computer turns itself on and off at random with no output. Sometimes it turns itself on over a long period of it being off like over vacation or just while i'm away doing other things. It also freezes if a bump it.

This could be many things. Power saving features such as hibernate or sleep. Wake-On-Lan (WOL)or IPMI. You can even try putting a pull down resistor on the power switch. If you don't have WOL enabled or IPMI then you can rule out hackers (unless there is some funky turing complete code running on your CPU, very unlikely).

I'd suspect power saving modes or a static build up first.
