New Pc Build

Solution

do i really need to overclock the cpu?

No. I think that 1060 should be good for gaming with 60FPS on a 1080p monitor for most games. If you have a 60Hz monitor exceeding 60FPS will just lead to screen tearing due to your PC sending more info than the TV/monitor can properly process. Later on down the road it can help close the age gap when it starts to get challenged.

I agree with Oc'ing to 4.4GHz with...

Greetings!

You will find that many folk here will have very definite opinions when it comes to hardware and they will likely propose whole new build ideas based on their opinions...so be prepared:p That aside, your build design looks solid with good parts from reputable manufacturers! The only thing I would recommend is to go with a better quality PSU, for reviews on Newegg aren't too good for the one you have chosen. Other than that, I can't see any problems with your considerations:)

Hope this helps!

I really haven't see any DRASTIC difference offered by the 115i. Oh, and you only have the h100. Yep. Not what I would choose. You will have two fans on there. I would go for the Cryorig H7(one fan, quieter?) and toss the AIO. Yes it will fit.

That saves you $30.

Reinvest that into your SSD. I'd choose a 500GB. Something closer https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-480GB-2-5-Inch-SDSSDA-480G-G25-Version/dp/B018X8LB2G With games exceeding 50GB 250GB isn't all that big.

You can't go SLI with that 1060. Do you see any SLI connections for a bridge? There is a way but for now it works with like 1 game. Not saying that was or is your intention or the catalyst for choosing that 750W but it's overkill. I'd instead choose a very high quality fully modular PSU https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438053 . Can it handle the 1070? With ease.

It's a balanced build that will net you high to ultra settings in most games at 1080p.

Greetings again!

The EVGA is a good choice and should last you through several years (and maybe several computers!) You do not have to overclock your CPU, but the K sku gives you the option if you choose. If you have no desire to overclock, you could save a few bucks and go with a non K CPU, totally up to you, and if you do overclock, you should be able to get a stable 4.4 to 4.5 for that seems pretty common.

I agree with Oc'ing to 4.4GHz with a simple multiplier change. However Oc's aren't guaranteed. Chips are ntot identical so I can't assume. Common? Yes.

You should register your PSU with EVGA. It comes with a 7 year warranty so you want to make sure you fulfill your responsibilities.
