- AMD Athlon X4 860k Quad Core
- EVGA GTX GEFORCE 950 FTW 2GB
- 8gb Ripjawz DDR3
- F2A88XM-D3HP Gigabyte Mobo

I'm soon getting income tax and I'm planning to upgrade my gaming PC. I'm not sure whether I should go for a GPU upgrade and keep my old CPU and motherboard, or go for a CPU upgrade and upgrade my Mobo, Ram (which I was already going to upgrade) along with it. I do play Battlefield 1, GTA V, DOOM 4 but do have some stuttering and lags when online etc. I want my PC to be ready to play newer upcoming games at 60+ FPS. I don't want to have any bottlenecks when I upgrade and I want to be able to max out Battlefield 1 and some other First Person Shooters. I was looking at a GTX 1060 6gb FTW for a GPU upgrade or on the other side of the spectrum, an i5-6600k. Any thoughts? Any help is appreciated!

I suggest replacing these part (basically a new computer all around from head to toes.
yhou mentioned 6660K so I did a overclocking build for you., if you don't care see next message

Thank you so much for the help, I do already have a cooler which is the Hyper 212X Turbo and a Corsair CX600 PSU. My budget I'm not going to be able to get a new GPU, only a CPU, Mobo, and 16 gb of Ram. I do have a case that will fit an ATX Mobo also. I'm liking the OC build since I have a decent cooler to OC with. What is the difference between the Z170 series Mobo's and the 270M?
