I have an interesting issue that I'm hoping someone here may know of a solution.
I have an MSI GT60 laptop that I recently upgraded to windows 10. The installation went smooth with no issues so I started to install some games. I started with battlefield 1 and gears of war 4. The first thing I noticed was that gears of war 4 was running at a constant 60fps with vsync off in the application and off in the nvidia control panel. So I started to search around for an alternative solution. I have the most up to date video drivers, disabled game dvr on the Xbox app, disabled shadow play, turned off the framerate limit and it was still stuck at 60fps. I eventually found a solution which was to turn the games resolution to 104% so it's running slightly above 1920*1080 and my fps went to 90 average.
I then started battlefield 1 and noticed a similar issue. My fps is stuck at 60 with vsync off and I am getting horrible screen tearing. The game is running in fullscreen mode (read about people getting this issue in windowed full-screen and borderless window) and in direct x 11. I've tried changing the options to let the game run in dx12 and get the same issue.
What can I possibly do to fix this? I would appreciate any help available.
