Will a graphic card that requires no power connectors work on an older motherboard?

I have a Msi 870-c45 motherboard with Sapphire HD6790 that requires 2x 6-pin connectors. Will a Sapphire rx460 2GB work altho it requires no power connectors?

it just means its power efficient and gets all the power it needs directly from the pcie slot

since you have an older motherboard make sure the bios is up to date
