A client is looking to buy a printer to replace their leased MFC. I'm not terribly familiar with the professional lines of office printers, and really don't have an affinity for one brand over another.

Requirements:
  • Color laser with high capacity letter and legal sized paper trays.
High speed scanning with a feed tray.
    Networked.
    Reliability.
Ease of use, both hardware and software.
Considerations:
  • Ledger size capability.
Wi-fi. It will be next to a port, but the ability to have a client connect and print could be handy.
Photo paper compatibility. Most pictures will be on standard office weight paper.
    Toner capacity/cost.
Print quality. Most of the documents will be contracts and such, but an occasional high quality document may come through.
I'd really like some brand recommendations, as I can pretty much narrow it down from there, but I'm not familiar enough with the professional level products to recommend one over the other.

No such thing as an easy to use hardware/software printer. They are the bane of the IT world.

Aren't that many brands really for the good stuff, and you kind of need to set a budget, all those features together is going to be somewhat pricey.

My company leases through Lexmark with on-site support, and offers HP inkjet products for special purposes. And a few one-offs for things like ID badges. Not to mention the manufacturing barcode and high speed printers.

I would start with some of the comparison and selector tools above and see what...
