It's not that there is anything groundbreaking in Kaby Lake, it's that it supports AACS 2.0 and Intel Software Guard Extensions. The DRM is the problem, and we may not hear much until after Ryzen launches or only shortly before, about whether it will support the new "plaid" level DRM or not. Intel's SGX looks like it requires a call home to Intel servers to operate, so I too am curious about Ryzen support for this.
