I'm building a non-gaming PC; I need a CPU/mobo on a $100-150 budget; what would you recommend based on what I currently have?

Hi guys! I'm a musician building a desktop for the purpose of recording, producing and mixing material; my priority is CPU & storage, though I got storage covered in terms of what I'm getting.

I currently have a $180 Best Buy gift card, and a $100 Amazon gift card.

Given that information, maybe you guys have an idea of how I can make optimum use of my cards?

I currently have:

A well-sized tower. In no need of buying one, honestly!

PSU: 485W, Enermax Noisetaker

GPU: XFX GeForce GTX 285 (MINT cond., never been used -- considering selling it if I can't put it to use)

RAM(DDR2): 2x2GB kingston 2gb 2rx8 pc2-6400u;; 2x2GB Super Talent DDR2-800

Would it be unreasonable to be going after this old piece, and out of my way for an LGA-775 to use it?

If not, is there an LGA-775 mobo that you highly recommend?

Otherwise... what are your thoughts, considering what I currently have, and what would be compatible with them?

Any of these that I should junk? Why?

And if you had my gift cards, how would you leverage them to build your own budget PC under my circumstances?

I appreciate you guys, as well as your time and your thoughts! Thank you very much, all my love :)

Solution
You would have to add a little extra cash to the mix, but this would work, and be far better than any old LGA 775 stuff. That PSU is quite old too.

Motherboard: Asus H110M-E/M.2 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($53.96 @ Amazon)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($63.99 @ Best Buy)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 520W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($56.36 @ Amazon)

Correct, do not keep the PSU. Sorry, I looked at the specs, not the release date.

BTW, the GPU has "never been used", so is that staying as well as the CPU (sounds like the CPU is staying to me)?
