I'm building a new rig and I wan't to make sure that the parts I picked out are compatible, this the list:
M/B: Asus B75m-a
CPU: i5 2400
RAM: Kingston HyperX Beast 8 GB (2x 4 GB) DDR3
GPU: MSI GTX 750Ti
PSU: EVGA 430W 80+

I'm most concered if the RAM and the motherboard are compatible, I'm not very fimilar with diffrent types of ram. Thanks

That's because Sandy and Ivy Bridge use the same CPU socket: LGA 1155. And another reason that they included Ivy Bridge instead is because it's based on the 3rd generation processors from Intel newer to the 2nd generation of Sandy Bridge. So yes you should be fine. I/We only suggested a newer gen because they are better optimized for today's games. No doubt 2400 is still an excellent performer but if you take a 6th i5 it would still easily outperform it.
Also by a bad motherboard I just meant it's not good quality, of course it has all the needed features but something like that could die soon.
Tell us your budget, maybe you could get something better.

I'm trying to build a everyday use PC, I was on a strict budget that's why I went with the i5 2400, I always have the option to upgrade to a i7 2600k in the future which is what I'm planning for but the 2400 is enough for my needs for now.

I know the motherboard is not the greatest but it has all the features that I need, like UEFI BIOS, ability to restore corrupted BIOS of a USB stick and couple more, and for that price, you can't beat it.

I also forgot to ask, in the motherboard description it states "...supports the latest Intel® Ivy Bridge processors..." but it should be fine to use Sandy Bridge CPU? It dosen't say it's made for Ivy Bridge processors.
