Hello,

I bought a new Aspire E5-572G-525V laptop and using windows 8.1, but I am facing a battery issue. I have noticed that whenever the battery level reaches aound 18%, the battery suddenly drops to 5%-critical level without giving a low battery indication and the laptop gets hibernate.

I have tried all the possible ways like to set the low level battery level indication in advanced battery options, re-installing the microsoft battery driver etc. but nothing has worked.

Is the battery is defected or is it any hardware or software issue? Please help. Thanks!

Hello, thanks for your help. But the battery is giving good backup and it works fine till 20%. But it gives problem after 20%. So should i replace it?

You might check the Acer support forums to see if this is a common problem. It might be a calibration issue, which you may be able to address if your system has a battery calibration option. This will start with a full battery, and run until it is drained, measuring state-of-charge along the way.
Otherwise, especially if you didn't buy it new, the battery may be nearing the end of its useful life, and a new battery might be needed. While you can get cheap knockoff laptop batteries on Amazon or eBay, a "real" one, though more expensive, will indeed last a lot longer (not necessarily on a single charge, but it will be good for many more charge/discharge cycles).
