I have done searches on other forums but am still having diffculty understanding my report.
How bad is it? Is it really really bad? Is my drive on the verge of death?
It is an external Seagate Backup Plus Hardrive.
Thank you for your help.

Well it has been reallocating and has unrecoverable sectors so you lost a little data and some has been successfully moved to new sectors. That isn't necessarily the end of the world. If it doesn't progress any further it could run for years like that.

Personally I would probably not keep anything critical on it going forward. And consider a replacement.

one of the errors listed there is concerning, the relocation error count

that for me, means that hard disk is having errors reading and moving files from bad sectors

i would backup now and remove that hard disk if i was you, especially knowing that is a seagate that usually won't last long

it is also working hot, usually it should work at 45° Celsius maximum, 33 or something is a more normal temperature

sounds like a hard disk in trouble that needs to replace

from the hour and power on count, is it a new hard disk? sounds like it could be still under warranty

That's a lot of sector issues for a fairly new drive.

Unfortunately this looks like a common problem with this drive, there's lot's of reviews regarding these sector issues and reliability problems, although I never owned one.

However, it is worth noting that this drive only carries a 1 year warranty.

Note: Avoid drives with less than 3 year warranties.

i said could, thanks for taking a calculator and dividing that number between 24

i couldn't do it by myself

warranty applies for the whole pc, not just for the hard disk

if you buy a preassembled pc and you buy a extended warranty, it is still under warranty, you have to ask to the op, always, you can't know until you ask

Ironically, external drives tend to be some of the least reliable for regular use. It's because the general workload that is seen on an external drive is fairly low, since they tend to be primarily used for backups.
Internal drives are ones commonly with 2-3 year warranties, with the more expensive ones have up to 5 year warranties.

The drive does look to be in bad shape, but the thing with SMART data is that it's mostly a cumulative count. The uncorrectable and realocated sectors could be from a single bad event, like dropping the drive. Not likely given the numbers you have, but it's possible. If you want, keep an eye on those yellow parameters. If they increase at all, then it confirms that the drive is dying.

In any case, like people have suggested, you should move the important data off of that drive and probably think about replacing it.
