Just swapped out my power supply and I hooked everything back up and it doesn't turn on. I've read all of the stuff that could be possibly wrong but nothing seems to be the issue. I know I am missing something simple. I have a GA-990FXA-UD3 rev 4.0 motherboard and I followed how to set the pins but I'm still at a loss. Here are some pictures. https://m.imgur.com/a/5gZ1T

USB/Ethernet really don't draw so much power.

that's more the responsibility of your motherboard to handle those components. And with the discovery of your installation... it could be a cause for your failing components.

I think that you should really see some help from a friend to have some real time 2nd opinion and trouble shoot. Or, extensive look at youtube guides to help you have a Proper installation before trying to troubleshoot other things.

uhhh... dude... you've got a big problem before the PSU even....

Look at your first picture, you see that screw thing at the bottom right on the motherboard? That's supposed to be installed ONTO THE CASE, it's not supposed to HOLD YOUR MOTHERBOARD to the case. those are NON CONDUCTIVE "adapter" bolts to keep your motherboard from shorting out on the pc case, you're supposed to use those on the case and tighten motherboard with small philips screws onto those black "tower like" bolts. Right now, more than likely, your WHOLE motherboard is probably shorting out on the PC case.

Maybe see to get some help from a friend or look on youtube for correct installation guides. I think you need to re-run installation guide and see your hardware installed correctly. I don't know which issues you have been having, but at this point, you may even have permanents damage on hardware components EI:motherboard+ other.

only after you fix your motheboard, try the PSU again.

Thanks for the input gussrtk, surprisingly those are what came with my motherboard two years ago, everything was working fine last night until I unplugged everything.

yes those do come with motherboard, but you're also supposed to have other small philips screws taht you use to screw into the black ones.

you could test your PSU by powering it up without it being plugged into the motherboard and see if it turns on. there are guides on youtube for it. you just use a paper clip basically to tell the PSU to turn on.

check that the switch is ON in the back of the psu (simple, but sometimes that's a silly thing that could be happening)

did you have any lights ON, on the motherboard when you plugged the PSU in? you would generally have a "GREEN LED" at all times or red whichever it is.

still.. strongly suggest you redo your motherboard, possible that while you switched out PSU, you disturbed the motherboard enough to short? I think you MAY have a little bit of a unique situation.

why did you swap out old PSU?

I swapped out the PSU because a while ago my Ethernet port died, so I use a USB to Ethernet adapter now, but sometimes when you do something extensive such as stream or something all of my USBs disconnect. I figured it was because I didn't have enough power going through my system. And to answer your question, there are no lights at all, and I hope I didn't short anything I've been very careful with touching everything.
