Is i5 4670k worth?

Hello, i have a question , i am planning to upgrade my FX 6300 to i5 4670k ( or 4690k ) diffrence is 20$ in couple of months . So my question is will i5 4670k last for atleast 3-4 years for gaming ( i have GTX 960 ) and can u guys name some motherboard under 100$ that can support OC.

I hope so I use a 4670 non k now - lol....

just look how many guys are still using sandy bridge or older intel cpu's today and still going strong ???

Agreed. Good CPU, should hold you for quite some time if you upgrade the GPU within that time as well

As for the motherboard, you need a mobo with Z97 chipset if you plan to overclock. Among the cheapest boards are Asrock Z97 Anniversary and MSI Z97 PC MATE.

Hi,

Since ryzen cpu (amd) is getting out next month I would wait:
if it is competitive, you might want to get one of them or else most likely intel cpu will go down

remember AMD stated that they were not going to compete in the performance market anymore so I would not count on much form them mid range at best

and if yhour going to wait that long to build a haswell by then skylake will be out and in the same boat as haswell is today anyway
