Hi all ,

I am hoping you can give me some advice . I recently purchased a second hand pc and wanted a graphics card mainly to have duel screens .

The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Q77M-D2H and it has a Astrum 500W PSU . I purchased a new Gigabyte Radeon R5 230 1 Gig card . I placed it on the board and connected the screen but when I switch on the pc it starts but nothing happens , I have tried both screens and nothing .

The funny thing is even if I leave it on for 10 minutes and come back still nothing happens but if I press the power button it switches off straight away , like it has not loaded the bios or windows , it just seems to be hanging there doing nothing .

There is a PCI-Express x 16 and PCI Express x 8 slots on the board , tried both and the same . I checked the website for the card and this motherboard is supported .

What am I missing here , is there a setting somewhere in the bios that I am not seeing . I did try set it to start on PCI and didn't work . I do not really know what the solution here is .

Thank you in advance for any and all help or suggestions .

Did the seller mention that the PCIe slot didn't work?

Hi Mousemonkey , He did not . I had another problem after the card out , the onboard graphics stopped working . I took the pc back to the guy today , he had given me a 6 month warranty on the hardware so will see what he says after looking at it .
