I know this question gets asked a lot, but I couldn't find anything specifically related to my case.

So I've had no problems for years with this computer that I've had since i built it back in 2011. Last Sunday I tried to boot up the computer and nothing happened. Completely unresponsive. I try booting it up with the power supply hooked up to various different things and notice that it boots up without the graphics card (MSI 970 gtx) connected to the power supply. OK, so I figure it's the power supply, an Antec 750w, I've had it for about five years so maybe it's just getting old. So I bought a fancy new EVGA power supply and hooked it up, and of course I get the same problem. I've tried switching the PCI Express port and replacing the CMOS battery, but no luck.

I want to try a new video card, but don't want to spend the money until I make sure that the card is the problem. Is there anything else I should try? I've only had the graphics card for about two or three years now and wasn't quite ready to replace it. My motherboard is the Asus sabertooth 990fx.
