MotherBoard: MSI 990FXA Gaming
CPU: FX-8350 BE
Nvidia GTX 1070 8GB
16GB RAM 1866

I need suggestions for M.2 & adapter for this mother board, with keeping in mind a potential double GPU one day(prolly not), as well as a good cooler.

Cooler Master Hyper 212X - CPU Cooler
DEEPCOOL GamerStorm ASSASSIN II CPU Cooler 8
CRYORIG H7
Noctua NH-D15
Thermalright Macho Rev. B with TY-147

Really like the new Samsung 960 Evo M.2 250/500GB: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1288024-REG/samsung_mz_v6e500bw_500gb_960_evo_nvme.html
Supports: PCIe 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.1

Is there an adapter for this motherboard?
Or any other suggestions for M.2?

Solution
The 7600k is way ahead of the 8350. The 8350 generally sits around i3 6100 performance in games. The FX range are just outdated and poor performers with no upgrade path. And yes a 1070 would suffer a lot of bottlenecking in most modern games and a 480 less so but I'd still expect a bottleneck in cpu heavy games.

Please don't. It's built on 5 year old architecture and gets outperformed by an i3.
I'll post build in a second.
This i5 will outperform that 8350 by a lot of miles. It's also overclockable.
Included a good cooler, a nice motherboard. You can overclock it.
Added a 960 Evo as you wished.

The 100 series board might need a bios update before finishing the I5 build. It will run fine, but it might not boot with the kaby lake and need a flash service from a pc shop with access to a cheap skylake. Do not buy AMD at this time, too old architecture and socket AM4 Zen is here soon with DDR4 support. Don't buy into hype and wait for retail sample reviews if you want AMD.

If a board you like does not have a m.2 but does have an x4 pci express (or the x16 physical/x4 electrical), just get one of these https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA8RU39C6054

If you're not in a hurry, Ryzen looks plenty worth waiting for, if for no other reason than lower prices on CPUs. Intel won't be able to match the in-built security features in it for 1 - 2 generations, and that's just to catch up with feature parity there. The CPU is also able to squeeze 1 - 2 FPS more out of a Titan X in the BF1 demo than Intel's $1000+ chip, which says a lot. While I agree that you should wait until the full reviews are available, now seems a terrible time to settle for AMD's old tech or even Intel's middle tier, when the markets may shift well in the consumer's favor.

I already have the motherboard and CPU. Ryzen too far out and expensive; not for me.
I dont need top game pc competitive. Lets just say itll be used for 4K vidz, and VR.
Noctua NH-D15 out performs Dark Roc 3 from what Ive seen.

Sell the motherboard and cpu. It's an old weak platform now and I cant recommend putting any more money into outdated hardware. It also gives no decent upgrade path. A basic i3 build will not only perform better but also gives you the choice of an i5 & i7 upgrade later. With an i3 you will also be using modern DDR4 RAM and not getting stuck with end of life DDR3 which also limits future upgrades.

So are you saying any new AMD cpu wouldn't fit in the MSI 990FXA Gaming board?
(not that it would really matter, especially if I resold(-20-30%) it within a year to someone who only needed it for similar uses)

and to the other points, again, this isn't meant to be a top end 4k game competitor.
Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8ghz is equivalent to the FX8350

If I go Intel, with the build suggested by "CPUs Authority", keeping his suggested cpu, ram, motherboard, gpu, vs equivalent AMD, I am looking at $1215 vs $915 and a year from now the new AMD and current Intel leading products would be much cheaper.

For 4K video & VR, isn't this already kinda over kill?

Side note - (at stock): "8350 would bottleneck something like a gtx 1070"
Would it bottleneck a Rx 480? If so what about OC the 8350, and how much?

"Amd states FX8350 was built to run with an AMD R9 Series GPU to unlock boths potential." Rx480 is better, but would it work just as nicely as the R9's?
