As I could not find a clear answer on this question in the FAQ sections and other of other forums, I will ask on here.
Basically, I want to upgrade to 8GB from 4GB. To do that I have to buy one more RAM module.
The one I have already on my MB (ASUS M5 A97 R2.0) is a Corsair DDR3 4GB 1333Mhz CL9 (CMV4GX3M1A1333C9). The only one I have available to buy is a Corsair DDR3 4GB 1600Mhz CL11 (CMV4GX3M1A1600C11).
My question is: Is there any chance that these two modules will work because of the difference in speed and latency?
~Thanks

Solution
There is no way to predict. Mix-and-match RAM might work or it might not. Your best bet would be to find a set of two matched DIMMs and remove your old DIMM and install the matched set.

Thanks for a quick reply!
Yes, I had the same opinion. Pick two of the same kind and that should work. That's what I am probably going to do.
Thanks for that.
Is there a way to mix memory latency? I am just curious because if CL9 has a smaller clock time and a CL11 has a larger clock time, will they be able to work somehow? I am asking this for future reference.
~Thanks!
