Will my 6600k and gtx 1070 be obsolete?

I was just watching a DigitalFoundry video about the recently released 7th gen Intel chips and it seems that the 7700k just kills the 7600k in certain games, and i was thinking how this would play out over the next 2.5-3 years (How long i plan to keep my pc before upgrades). Should i upgrade my pc or will i be good


Specs:
i5 6600k at 4.6ghz
Dominator Platinum 3200mhz
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1070
H100i V2
Maximus VIII Hero (Soon to be a Krait Gaming 3x)




UPDATE: I only ask this question because im making a white build with the InWin 303 and a Z170 Krait Gaming 3x motherboard

You are perfectly good. Do not bother in getting the 7th generation of intel chips if you already have an i5 6600k. The difference is meaningless. Apart from that, that i5 6600k clocked at that point is a beast. It will never hold your 1070 back. I assure you.

my cpu (i5-3570K) is still holding up pretty well, and delivers quite the same performance of a FX-8350. i am using this from more than three years and i am gonna change it next month, but for now, with a slight overclock (from 3.4 ghz stock to 4.1ghz) and a RX 480 8 gb i max out everything! all to say your system rocks as hell m8, you won't need an upgrade anytime soon, even in 3 years :)

I have a 8370@stock and a 1060 and I'm perfectly fine with Overwatch, TF2, PS2, ... and Handbrake, VidCoder, Toshop, ...
So you think your CPU is already obsolete? :D
