Hi everyone,
I'm building a game PC and I need help with the CPU. First I was planning on buying an intel core i5 7600K. But a friend of me told me that my build is so high-end that it's better to buy an intel core i7. Can someone tell me what the exact difference is between the i5 and i7? And is it worth the 110 euros more for the intel core i7 7700K? Or is a cheaper i7 a better option.

My build:
CPU: ?
CPU cooler: Cryorig r1 universal
Motherboard: asus ROG strix Z270F
RAM: Corsair Vengeance
SSD: samsung evo 960 500GB (pci m.2)
HDD: WD 1TB 7200 RPM
GPU: asus ROG strix 1060 OC 6GB
PSU: don't know which one to pick yet
OS: windows 10 pro 64-bit

Thanks!

Get your self a 7th gen i7 7700k or i5 7600k. I wouldn't get a non K processor if you have a z270 board.
The i5 has 4 cores, no hyper threading wear as the i7 has 4 cores and hyper treading. If you use applications which would benefit from those threads i would get the i7 if not and your just gaming get the i5

i5 or i7 doesn't matter.

A high end i5 could beat a low end i7, it's best to look at cores/threads, clock speeds and generation instead of i5/i7.

Instead of getting an i5 7600k, you could get a i5 6600k. They are essentially the same CPU but the 7th gen is clocked higher and slightly better.
