Mobo: Asus z270 Mark 2

Originally, I bought Patriot Viper Elite Series 2x8 3000mhz - Would only post with one stick. Tried both sticks in the same A1 slot, posted. Tried in A2/B2 no post. Tried A1, B1, no post.

Called Asus tech support, they told me that RAM was not compatible for dual channel. They emailed me a list of compatible RAM. Went to store and purchased Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8 2666mhz. Same story as above. Posts with one stick in A1,

I have tried enabling profile 1 for XMP but this does not change the outcome.

I am really stuck here. I just want my RAM to work.

Any ideas?

Solution
Try all the slots with 1 stick each time. If that works try the same thing with the other stick. If that works again and still wont post with 2 sticks of different brands then I would say it's an issue with your motherboard. Contact support.

I have actually tried that and that did work with the Patriot RAM. I only verified in A1 that both of the Corsair work so I imagine i'd get the same results.

It took me all day to install everything into this case and on the mobo and I would dread having to replace it. Are there any other troubleshooting things I can try?
