Triggered Windows Performance Recorder? Lock up hang analysis.

All fo a sudden, with no new hardware added, I have been getting gaming lockups. They seem graphic in nature but cant verify. Screen freeze. Cntl-Alt-Delete doesnt work, or if it starts to work screens go black, or only part of a window shows.

But its a fairly new GTX 1060. Not running hot. Drivers updated. Win 7 i7 3770 CPU, 24 GB RAM. This is one of those all of a sudden issues so dont suspect the game itself.

Anyway, considered Windows Performance Recorder and Analysis from the ADK kit, but it mentioned not to use when gaming (?). I tried it once anyway but you have to START the recorder when the problem occurs. I cant Alt Tab out of the locked up screen to begin a record.

Are there any other performance and hardware monitors out there that are more automatic, and triggered by a spike to turn on? Some better way to try to catch the faulty issue in action? Event viewer shows nothing useful.

Thanks!

Eh no, in the sensors options there's a button at the right bottom corner that looks like a spreadsheet with a green plus sign on it, click on it and choose where you want it to record the log, then minimize and play, HWInfo will record all data from that moment on until it crashes.

So to clarify, you have to use the log option before you start playing to record all that happens.
HWInfo is what you want, enable its log feature and then leave it minimized while you play, after you get back into windows you can review the log file generated to see all sorts of data, from CPU/GPU temps to their voltages and usage/load etc etc to find out what triggered the lockup.

Thanks RaDiKal. Good tool. Was able to record and then have the freeze. The only problem is that the Freeze prevented me from getting back to HWInfo and SAVE the report. I got close. Alt Tabbed to HWINFO, clicked save report, then locked up to point I couldnt get report saved. Might need a monitoring app that records and autosaves and does not require a manual save.
