I've currently got a MSI GTX 970 (Link for reference: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-msi-geforce-gtx-970-gaming-twin-frozrv-pcie-30-7010mhz-gddr5-gpu-1140mhz-boost-1279mhz-cores-166)

My current case is nice but I need to update my processor as it's a 3rd gen and given that we're coming ever closer to 8th gen being released I feel (and want) to upgrade that to a 7th gen. As a result of that I'll need to change the motherboard as well, I'm looking at the I5-7600K and the ASUS Prime Z270, the question is, what sort of case do I need?

If you have any suggestions I'm all ears, just for reference I'm looking for something fairly good looking and in black, other than that I just need a size (however suggestions would also be pretty nice :p)

Cheers guys.

Only difference between 760T and 760T v2 is slightly different side panel latch.

Difference between 780T and 760T is bigger.

Before i bought my 760T v2, i did consider getting 780T. But the looks of 780T didn't appeal to me as much as 760T looks did + one extra 5.25" external drive bay is also handy to have.

Note: despite Corsair site saying about 760T that you can fit only 2x 140mm fans at top, you actually can fit 3x 140mm fans at...

With Asus Prime Z270-A MoBo you need a case that supports ATX size MoBo. Any mid-tower ATX case will do. You can even go for full-tower ATX case if you want to have more space inside the case.

Here i suggest Corsair lineup, link: http://www.corsair.com/en/pc-computer-cases
In full-tower ATX sizes: Graphite Series 760T or Graphite Series 780T.
In mid-tower ATX sizes: Carbide Series Air 540, Carbide Clear 400C, Carbide SPEC-ALPHA Black/Red or Carbide Series SPEC-02
Red LED.

For example, my Skylake build (full specs in my sig) sits inside Graphite Series 760T full-tower ATX case.

Quick question, I'm from the UK personally so I've found a place I can get it from, but there are multiple options in terms of the 760 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CC-9011044-WW-Graphite-Windowed-Performance/dp/B00HSY2072?th=1)

What's actually the difference between the 760, 760 V2 and the 780? I'm assuming with the 760 vs 780 it's just a case of space, but what about the 760 vs the 760 V2?

Thanks again!

(By the way, the type of case is definitely something I would have picked so thanks massively for the suggestion haha)

Not sure if you can also fit 3x 140mm fans on top at the 780T case.

Oh, if you go with 760T then you can also buy aftermarket dust filter kit for it (as i've done),
link: http://www.demcifilter.com/p0513/Corsair-760T-Dust-Filter-Kit.aspx

Demciflex filters are far better than those that came with a case since they are high grade medical mesh filters that can catch even the tiniest bits of dust.
Here's nice video review about the 760T Demciflex dust filter kit,

You're welcome. :)

Few additional words about 760T and 780T.

If you go with 760T, don't be alarmed when you see reset button flashing. It's the HDD read light.

Fan controller
760T can support up to 4x 3-pin or 4-pin fans, powered by SATA and it has 2-speed fan controller (50% and 100%).
780T can support up to 5x 3-pin or 4-pin fans, powered by SATA and it has 3-speed fan controller (30%, 60% and 100%).

Drive cages
Both cases come with 2x 3.5" drive cages (3x 3.5" drive slots per cage) that are modular. You can take all 3.5" drive cages out if you like. Or when you need more room for 3.5" drives, you can buy 2 additional drive cages from Corsair and install up to 4x 3.5" drive cages inside both cases, bringing the total amount of 3.5" drive slots to 12. (Note: with all 4 drive cages installed, you can't install any bottom intake fans.)

Spare parts
Corsair also provides spare parts for their cases if you need to replace some of them due to the damage.

Funnily enough the reset button on my computer case already flashes but I've never knew what caused it; and now I do know! Thanks for that :p

I'll be sure to make use of that information, regardless of which case I get. I'm possibly leaning towards the 780T just because I like the design a bit more, I'm not usually about aesthetic as it's just a tower and looks aren't all that necessary, but I feel like splashing a bit of cash out on it anyways because why the hell not hahaha.
