Should i venture into intel Xeon cpu?

I have an old ddr2 motherboard with an intel pentium clocking at 2.30ghz socket 775

i read that intel xeon (socket 771 with an adapter) have a higher speed (3.3ghz, OC at 4.2 ghz)
should i go for it?

so this means its worth it? no backfires or anything else? (cause its from a socket 771 to 775 tho)
