Ok So i saved up a bunch of money to build a PC to my liking, I have no help so I am here and on PC Part picker. I really wanna do this on my own in real life but help over the web would be awesome! So I finished all the parts and Long story short I have the motherboard I listed above and I am wondering if it would be able to fit all my other stuff. Sli Galax Nvidia Hof 1080s, 32 gb of dominator ram, and one 980 gb ssd sandisk extreme pro and a 480 ssd sandisk extreme pro. My pain worry is because the 1080s I want is the biggest versions and says "PCI Express-compliant motherboard with one dual-width x 16 graphics slot" which to me means it requires double the space! So in my head i would think I do not have enough but pc part picker does not show any red flags on the build!! So Idk if I am overthinking or what. Please help me with this just that question, I prefer not here any suggestions about my overall build specs.

Solution
it depends on the viewing distance.
you can get an idea of what resolution at what size would be noticeable at specific distance here:

this is not entirely correct since there is huge variation between individuals. And even bigger difference between different types of content. For example, text is one that will benefit from higher pixel density. Movies a bit less. Games are least sensitive.

People keep telling me SLI is bad and now I am not wanting to do that but I do not see any other way to get 4k, ultra setting over 60 fps. I know one guy who does it but he has sli and even he told me not to do it.

Single GTX 1080 (mostly) does the 4K at 60FPS.
If you wait a couple of month, you can get vega or pascal refresh that will be a bit better.
In a year you can get volta that will do the 4K on ultra.
There is no point to get more than single high end card. at the cost of 2 1080, you can get a titan (which i don't recommend).
Anyway 60FPS is not really a gaming thing. Any "serious"/pro gamer will prefer 1440p@144Hz monitor over 4K. you need a huge monitor to really see the difference between 1440p and 4k image. if you are gaming on TV, from ~3meters you need over 75" to be able to see the difference between 1080p and 4K. So 4K gaming for now is more of a gimmick/marketing BS.
