If the ram can fit snuggly into the ram slots with the clips on the sides closed then it is most likely compatible. I don't think it's the ram that whon't let you boot. Maybe CPU of power supply not correctly done. Check through every component that it's correctly inserted or done.

well I beg to differ, if the ram in his hands is 2133 and the board only support 2400 and higher, it wont run at all.
your generalization is at best a " try it and see" attitude that lands so many people on this forum seeking help.

a7dfj8aerj :
your user manual is located at :https://www.manualslib.com/manual/868577/Asus-Rampage-V-Extreme.html
Yo0u failed to mention what make/model speed your ram is, so I cannot answer your questions
but I can point the page of specifications of your motherboard and states the memory requirements
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/868577/Asus-Rampage-V-Extreme.html?page=10#manual
also checked your CPU as you will have noticed your motherboard can do a lot of Overclocked speeds BUT it is dependent on your CPU abilities

Now looking more closely to the I7-5930K we find on this web page https://ark.intel.com/products/82931/Intel-Core-i7-5930K-Processor-15M-Cache-up-to-3_70-GHz the memory specifications and sorry but seems you are limited to using DDR4 1333/1600/2133 only.

hope that answers your question

Did you go to asus website and check for RAM support?

The mobo can use XMP(oc) RAM, it will support up to 3300. But like you said, 2133 is guarantee

Hi I know this is an old post but did you solve the problem? What make was your RAM? Usually it's best to update the BIOS to solve this issue because this was a major issue with those who had Corsair Dominator Platinum
