Can i upgrade?

Hi guys
i just found my very old pc in my garage and he running WIN XP so i would like to know if i can upgrade him to Win 7
the spec are
CPU:Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz mPGA478
Ram : Hynix 1GB DDR
that's the specs that CPU-Z gave me...
so will this PC run WIN 7 ??

It will work but after some time it may be a little bit laggy :)

Sure it can.
Windows 7 can even run on Pentium III.
If you want to have Aero(transparency thing) you need a 8400GS, Geforce 210 or HD 5450. (Anything that is capable of Shader Model 2.0)
If you want to watch 720P video on youtube I recommend downloading this add-on : h264ify
It will offload the content to graphics card which result in low CPU usage during playback.
Also install Adblock Plus.

I have an AGP Video card and not PCI-E...
btw i know what's Aero....

If he plans to play games on it (older titles) I recommend sticking with XP.
I just did some benchmark on my old Pentium 4 PC.
Games seems to run a lot smoother (around 4-8 FPS more in XP compared to 7)
If he just use the PC for web browsing and watching video it should be ok with Windows 7.
