How do I take an OS off a hard drive?

I have a hdd with my games and other files on it that was also used as my boot drive or hdd with os on it. I'm switching computers and want to keep all of my games. How do I remove the os(Windows 8) from that hard drive?

Remove what you want to keep from the hard drive, like your games. You can't remove an OS. the OS has what's called a file system (FAT, NTFS) which keeps track of files on storage devices (hard drive) without a file system you have no files.
