I ordered new 2x2gb ddr2 ram from amazon.com for upgrading my ram from 4gb to 8gb ddr2. I got the 2 ram delivered. As my mobo supports 8gb ddr2 ram and has 4 ram slots. so inserted all my ram into its slots. I started my pc it worked fine and In my Bios setup it showed total 8gb ddr2 ram.
while loading windows 7 it showed a blue start screen error and my pc gets automatically restarted. After lots of triumph i came into conclusion that one of my ram slots is not working or some dirts got stuck into it. I wonder how a pc can start like that if the ram is not detected. but it showed right in the bios but windows cant proceed why ?? I am really confused? I also wants to know how i can solve that ram slot.

System configaration

CPU= Intel core2quad 3.0ghz
Ram= 8gb ddr2
GPU= Nvidia gtx 970 4gb GDDR5
OS= Windows 7 64bit

Solution
Using only the first two RAM slots.

Start the computer with the module that was working beforehand.
If it boots into Windows 7, turn it off, use ONE of the new ones.

If that boots into Windows 7, take out the NEW one, insert the second NEW one.

If that boots into Windows 7 try both the new RAM sticks in the first two slots.

Using only the second two RAM slots

Try those steps again.

It could be the new RAM sticks or DIMM slots on your mobo. You purchased DDR2 sticks right?
