I have this motherboard and there's something really weird happening with its slots, before only the black (dual channel) slots were working and I could put RAM sticks only into those two slots, so 2 days ago I got a new power supply and after I turned the PC on it only loaded 2 GB of RAM (I have one stick of 2GB in each black slot), so I put both sticks in the yellow dual channel slots and when I turned on the PC it loaded only 2GB RAM again. Then I put one stick in the yellow slot and one stick in the black spot and it loaded 4GB RAM and everything is working fine now. But since I want to upgrade to 8GB RAM so I want to know if the motherboard is broken and I need to get a new one, or there is something I need to do in BIOS.

Solution
Read the motherboard manual. Some manufacturers build them so as to use the same colored slots and some to use the different colored slots. The color itself has no meaning other than what is described in the manual. The manual will tell you how you should install the RAM and which sockets to use when only installing two modules.
