Few days ago I noticed my GPU fans spinning really fast and loud when I was back after an hour or so. Opened up HW Mon and found GPU temps were around 58-59 while no application was running. I tried to reproduce the issue multiple times and it happens every time the system goes in idle mode. I have been using Zotac Firestorm app to monitor the Utilization & Temps. Everytime I am back to the system after few mins (as low as 2 mins), I see the GPU Utilization is at the peak and suddenly becomes normal as soon as I move the mouse. I checked the running processes, did a virus scan etc.. Everything else seems to be okay. Just to reiterate, the utilization comes to almost zero and temps start falling as soon as I move the cursor.
PS:
1) No virus
2) Tried clean GPU driver installation with latest updates
3) No Overclocking has been done on GPU.
4) I suspect the problem started happening after I installed - ASUS Intel Extreme tuning utility
5) CPU temps are normal at around 38-39 C and utilization is low as 1-5 %

Gskill Tridentz 3400
Asus x99 AII
Corsair H100i v2
Zotac GTX 1070 Amp Extreme
Sandisk Ultra II 960GB SSD
CM Mastercase Pro 5
I have searched for a while on the web, found threads with high utilization, but could not find exact same scenario
