RAM CORSAIR CMK8GX4M1A2400C14 VENGEANCE LPX BLACK 8GB DDR4 2400MHZ
INTEL CORE I3-6100 3.70GHZ LGA1151
GIGABYTE H170-HD3

Are these ok together? Ram at XMP 2400 with this i3 and motherboard. No plans for overclock on cpu or gpu.

Solution
H series doesn't support XMP. Only Z series chipset motherboards have that capability.

However, you can manually clock it to 2400mhz and set the other parameters like voltage and timings.

There's no guarantee it will work, stability wise (this is even true with XMP profiles as a whole). But there is a high chance it will work.
