Hey guys, need some help here. After watching Digital Foundry's vide on the i5 2500k i realized that DDR3 2133MHz RAM will need to be my final upgrade as i move from 8GB to 16GB. Problem is, most units are incredibly overpriced. I wanted to know if there's any guides for this, and what sort of life span shortening I should expect from this. Thank you!

First off, I'm not sure what video you're referring to, but I doubt you're going to see a whole lot of improvement from 2133 vs 1600 MHz.

But if you do want to overclock, there are plenty of guides out there.

Not sure how easy it is to get a 1600 MHz kit to 2133 though.

I thank you kindly for the guides. That video post is very outdated now, and games like Far Cry 4 and Crysis 3 thrive where more bandwidth and threads with higher clocks are available :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frNjT5R5XI4. The increase in minimum FPS+the frametime being more solid is a great final boost that i think my PC can utilize in it's ageing state!
