What software do I use to clone a storage hard drive?

Hello,

I have never cloned a hard drive before so I don't know what is recommended.

I currently have a desktop with an SSD as the OS boot drive and a 500GB Western Digital HDD as the storage drive.

I am looking to replace the 500GB HDD with a larger HDD drive and was wondering, what software can I use to pretty much copy all of the exact contents of the 500GB HDD to the new drive I am replacing it with?

I am hoping to just have a simple swap of the new drive and have everything working as it used to with the old drive and all the applications working normally as well without any reinstallations.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Solution
Assuming this is just a secondary drive, ttwo options:

1. Simply Copy/paste to the new drive. Swap drive letters around.

2. Or, any of the current cloning applications. I use Macrium Reflect. It will do exactly what you seek.
