I've just finished building my first computer. Unfortunately, no matter what I do, my monitor gets no input from the the computer itself. I've hooked up hdmi and DVI to the graphics card and the motherboard to two different monitors.

I've tried using two different graphics cards as well, no change. Everything on the motherboard lights up, and fans spin. As far as I can tell, every part of the computer is functioning. I took it to an IT guy, and he said that everything looked like it was put together properly (thanks man...).

I've been trying to figure this out for 4 days, but to no avail. I am relatively new to this sort of thing, so help would be appreciated.

Solution
With new PC builds it's better to have someone there with you that has experience to check over the build, if someone did that you may have dead parts, or that IT guy did not do a good job looking at the system himself. Did he actually reseat parts or just look at it? Try one RAM stick at a time, try with only the onboard video with the graphics card removed.
