Does My Motherboard Support Crossfire?

I recently finished my build based around the Gigabyte G1 Sniper B7 motherboard, and I am quite happy with the performance. I am running an HD 7950, and I was wondering if my motherboard would support crossfire. The board itself says "Crossfire Technology" but only has one x16 slot, and one x4 slot. I have heard that people who run dual graphics cards in the different slots find the performance increase to be negligible, or even hindered. Thanks, Aidan

You have two 16x slots. It's incorrect to call the other one a x4 slot because the slot itself is an 16x slot. It only has 4 lanes of PCIe attached to it, but mechanically it's a 16x slot. There is such a thing as a 4x slot and it's MUCH shorter. Just an FYI for future reference so you don't confuse people.

Personally I'd change cards. The 7950 is an older card and two of them won't give you great frame rates. Worse, they will consume 400W+ depending on model. You are better off selling your card and just getting a new bigger one.
