Switching to 120hz makes screen blurry?

I've looked around on google for so long and nothing was related to mine. I have the AW2310 monitor which is fully capable of 120hz paired with an RX 480 Red Devil. I am using a 24+1 DVI cable so that shouldn't be a problem either. Now, my problem is, everything becomes so pixelated it is very hard to see anything going on. What am I doing wrong? I've spent about 3 days playing on 60hz, I feel like my money is wasted.

okay, so my brother has a gtx 1060 which I do think is capable of 120hz and guess what, same thing happened - everything got all pixelated. Do you guys think it's a faulty cable? A fake one maybe? I bought it for ~6USD so maybe the quality isnt good? Or perhaps it's the monitor not capable of fhd 120hz? I really hope my money wasnt wasted

I tried another cable, it still becomes pixelated at 120hz :( I cannot RMA it as I got it second hand and the guy said HDMI DVI 120hz is okay.. I can manually overclock the monitor up to 97hz and more than that, it becomes blurry and unreadable. I have double checked it is a dual link cable and I don't want to bother the store staff again if I can help it. I've tried contacting the guy again but he hasn't replied to me for days already so he probably knew this was going to happen. Do you think I could still RMA it even though I don't have the original accessories to come with it? thanks a lot I appreciate it

I personally don't feel it's a massive bump from 60 to 97 to be honest, maybe it's too little of a difference. Or probably I'm too annoyed I spent far too long trying to get 120hz to work but never did. I'll be honest, I would've rather preferred 1440p/60hz - that is if you're a little of a graphics whore like me haha
