Maximum RAM speed for Intel Core i7-7700K

Hello, I'm planning to buy a Intel Core i7-7700K paired with a Asus Maximus IX Formula, but I have a question about the RAM speed I can get.

In Intel official site says that the memory type supported by the Intel Core i7-7700K is DDR4-2133/2400, and the motherboard supports a maximum of 4133MHz. So I only can have a 2400Mhz memory? Or a 2133Mhz one? And if I buy, let say, a 3200Mhz RAM, it will be overkill for the CPU?

You can use 3200 memory.
Anything over 2400 is considered a overclock on the memory and not guaranteed to run that fast.
The memory should default to 2400 when first installed and might be as easy as going into BIOS and enabling XMP profile to get the advertised speed of the memory. It could also take some voltage tweaks to get it that fast.
I would say with that processor 3200 would be a fairly safe bet.
