My laptop CPU idles between 60-80 degrees Celsius while gaming it goes over 90+ degrees Celsius, is that normal? If not, what is going on with my laptop?

My laptop is a MSI GS60 2QE 3K 2014 model.
Specs:
CPU: Intel i7-4710HQ
GPU: GeForce GTX 870M 3GB
RAM: 16GB DDR3

Haswell cpu's are known to run hot. According to intel's website the max temp for that cpu is 100 degrees celsius. 60-80c is normal for a laptop cpu. 90 is high, and while it isn't dangerous yet you should take any precautions you can, such as not placing it on your lap, turning up the ac in your house, or even buying a cooling pad for it.
