Greeting! I hope you have a happy lunar new year!

I would like to kindly ask if anyone know how to fix an issues related to my HDD problem. My big bro gave me a Seagate 2TB (model st2000vx000) and I have been using it for nearly a week. During those short time of usage, I noticed the HDD randomly disappearing whenever I turn the PC on. Sometime it is ok, sometime it is does not appear in my computer. I already checked the cables and test all of it with my old 500 GB HDD and they all seem to work well.

The problem is that this morning when I turn on the PC, the HDD just stop appearing. It doesn't appear in the bios system info, or the Disk management no matter what i do. (unplug and plug cables)
However, it appear in the device manager (it also tell me "the device is working properly"), and in the Driver software installation pop up.
Please help! This the first time I got a 2 TB HDD in my life (or any new HDD). It is depressing if it is dead after less than a week usage.

I'm with @SkyNetRising on this one. The drive is definitely faulty. Unfortunately there's no way to fix it, so you should try to get it replaced if it's still covered by its warranty. If it's a new drive and not an OEM one (original equipment manufacturer) you should have no issues RMAing it.

Please keep us updated and good luck. Sorry for the grim news though. :(
Hey there.

Unfortunately it sounds like the drive could be faulty. Unless you have a 3rd drive connected to your motherboard, it seems like that HDD is not properly recognized and is seen as a 128GB not initialized drive by Disk Management.
You did well by checking the cables with other drive, but I'd also recommend that you try the drive with a different computer if possible, to see if the same thing happens. You should also download the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool so that you can run the tests and see what's the situation with it.

edit: Looks like you got almost the same answer while I was typing, sorry. :)

Hope that helps. Please let me know what are the results of the tests.

I have used the tools as told.
For the Seagate official tool, it failed to find my HDD. It detect only the old 500GB HDD.
As for the HDtune, it detect the both HDDs but it doesn't look so well.
