Hey all, I've recently built a gaming pc ($2600 aud) and im having a bit of issues when playing gta v and dayz, I'm a bit disappointed because i didnt think i would have any issues. Could out of date drivers be the case? Does it have any affect?

Parts
Cpu= intel i7 7700k 4.5ghz
Gpu= evga geforce gtx 1070 sc
Ram= 4x4gb
Water cooled cpu
750w power supply
Motherboard= msi z270 gaming pro carbon

I was told i can run any game max, is that true?

Solution
Yes it does. Especially newer games can benefit from updated drivers as they are optimized in later driver updates.

You don't specify what resolution you are running at, but for 1080p you can run anything on max settings. For 1440p you could run most on max settings, though you might have to fine tune a bit to get maximum fps.

Dayz used to be very hard to run properly on any computer, don't know if they have made better progress optimizing it, but it used to be impossible to run on max settings smoothly on any computer.

Hey thanks for answering, yeah my monitor is 1080p, when i first built it a couple days ago i thought i installed the newest driver but on 'can you run it' website it says its still out of date. How can i update it?

I wouldn't trust 'can you run it' website as a trusted source for your ability to run a game nor displaying the most updated driver. If you want to be 100% sure of having the latest driver correctly installed, go to your chipset drivers manufacturer website (in your case nvida) and download the latest driver for your OS version.
After downloading do not install it right away. First get rid of any old graphic driver file through using 'display driver unistaller' or simply DDU. It will remove all old drivers and leave a clean system. After this you can reboot the computer and install the latest drivers.

If you have graphics or driver issues, one of the most common fixes is a clean uninstall and removal of your graphics drivers.

To uninstall your drivers, first download and run Display Driver Uninstaller, and follow it's recommendations of booting into safe mode and ect.
(This is a direct download link so you don't grab the wrong version)
http://www.guru3d.com/files-get/display-driver-uninstaller-download,20.html

You'll download a compressed file called "[Guru3D.com]-DDU.zip"
Right click and choose extract.
Go into the folder and run the DDU v##.##.exe
This will extract more files to this folder.
Run Display Driver Uninstaller.exe
Choose Yes when it asks you to boot into SafeMode.
After you've rebooted into safe mode.
When DDU comes up, if it hasn't selected your GPU manufacturer (Nvidia/AMD/Intel) then choose it from the drop down list
Press the Clean and Restart option
If a window comes up asking to disable the Windows automatic installation of display drivers click yes.

After (or before removing the old drivers, just put the new ones on the desktop or somewhere handy) rebooting back into Windows, manually download the latest drivers from Nvidia or AMD, don't use auto detect, choose you GPU model and OS from the drop down lists.
