Hi, to begin with, here's my rig details:

MSI GP62 2QE Leopard Pro
i7 5700HQ
GTX 950M 2GB
8GB DDR3 RAM

I have this issue with FarCry 3 game, previously I can maintain 70-90 FPS using recommended Geforce experience settings 1600x900, Custom setting varies from low to very High.

However after my rig broke down due to mainboard issue (unstable power supply), I have to replace the Mobo (fortunately still under warranty), after it get back from authorized service center, everything went back as it is, all my settings, files, even wallpaper were not compromised, i'm very grateful of that.

Then I tried to play my games, but when it comes to farcry 3, using the same exact usual settings from NVIDIA GeForce experience, my FPS rate drops to 35-57ish... almost half of my usual rate! ei even tried tolower the settings 1366x768 low-medium, still got only 40-50ish FPS!

All other games seems having normal FPS rate though.

I know this game kinda obsolete and I already finished it like 5 times, but damn I love this game and always enjoy it.

I did notice when I tried to check game file integrity via Steam, it appears 1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired. Is that something to do with this?

My Geforce Experience version is 378.xx

Appreciate any answer.., thanks

Hi i just solved the situation with my laptop, the trick is just simply Downgrade the version of my Geforce GPU Driver to the previous one, i then reinstall several games which encountered FPS issue such as Farcry 3 and Borderlands 2, after that restart the PC and Voila the FPS rate came back if not even better than ever!

I assume the last Driver update from NVIDIA is buggy.

I still play Far Cry 3 so you're not alone.

I run a system with an i5-4690K, R9 280 & 16GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM.

If I have FPS drops then it means this game is NOTORIOUS for not being optimized.

For now, fiddle with these settings.

- Try turning Vertical Refresh Frames to 0 and work your way up to see if that helps in-game

- Navigate to My Documents - My Games - Far Cry 3 - Gamer Profile and right-click open with notepad.

Press Ctrl+F and search PostFX.
Set it to false and then save the file.

That should help some with the stuttering. Changing settings in game will revert the notepad changes so make sure you set the FC3 settings then do the notepad stuff
