I have a MacMini OSX 10.4.11 Power PC. The CD player does not work. I was given a Iomega Predator CD-RW exterior drive Model CD-RW38402EXT 2-B for PC and Mac. The proper cables
came with it and two disc's. One is labled CD-RW USB 2.0 "Solutions" with a number 30930106. The second is an iomega disc CD-R 1X-40X 80 Min/700MB Verbatim. No instructions.
My question? can I connect the iomega Predator to my Macmini if so what else is required?
Thank You

With any luck simply plugging in the CD player with the cable for the Mac will be all that is needed. I.e., "plug and play".

Otherwise, you will need to load the applicable drivers on the Mac so it and the CD player can communicate.

Visit Iomega's website and search for the CD player's model number. You may find installation and configuration information there - maybe even the applicable User Guide/Manual.

This IOMega was new like fifteen years ago. In that time, a lot of things could happen to that drive - read/write head could get dirty, or drive won't be recognized. Even then, this software CD (the other one is just a blank CR-R) most probably contain Windows-only software.

It all depends what you want to do with it. PowerPC Mac's are long out of support, so if you don't have already CD authoring application loaded, you will be hardly pressed to find one.
