Best Low Profile Graphics Card Under GTX 750ti?

Solution
Tom's gpu hierarchy list will give you an approximate ranking.
R7-250 will be an upgrade, but really not very satisfactory.
Those with GDDR5 ram are a touch faster.

GT730 64bit gddr5 will be comparable. to R7-250.
Strangely, the 64 bit versions are much faster than the 128 bit versions, they have more CUDA cores.

The card you linked is not low profile.

I *used* to say this one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J06F4HE

IF you needed to be both single-slot height overall (including the heatsink/fan) AND low profile. But apparently that's recently gotten absolutely ridiculous in price. It used to be in the $80-$100 range. I got it because I needed low profile AND the cooler being only single-slot-height. The tall coolers on the low-profile 750s knocked them out of the running for me.

But I do agree with the other posters. If your current CPU has the built-in graphics (HD 530 or Iris Pro 6200), then it's not worth getting a discrete card in that price/performance range.

I've got a Pentium G640 (2 cores 2 threads) in a socket 1155 motherboard with intel hd graphics family. I have been looking into the GT 730 previously, but I've heard that the r7 250 is better.

Unfortunately that 1050 most likely won't fit into this
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03355381 pc. My budget is at around $90 for a low profile card that I'll use for some esports and something that will be able to run fallout 4, with lowest settings and fps tweaks of course.

I know it doesn't specifically say LP in it but I think it will fit.

I think not.
Here is a comparison of standard and low profile cards
https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.shopify.com%2Fs%2Ffiles%2F1%2F0228%2F2129%2Fproducts%2FLowProfileConfiguration.jpg%3Fv%3D1367572563&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dionnelee.com%2Fc8740a-low-profile-bracket-kit-quick-shopping&docid=D03Fc6cooDHMJM&tbnid=ikR3snI4KQinxM%3A&vet=1&w=453&h=457&bih=1157&biw=1568&q=low%20profile%20bracket&ved=0ahUKEwjbjPCDxuvRAhVIZCYKHX-GDfkQMwhIKAowCg&iact=mrc&uact=8

Also, there is a distinction between low profile and low profile ready.
The ready cards may or may not include some sort of a low profile adapter.
Best you see what you will buy yourself beforehand.

Currently, the low profile 750ti is $140 on amazon and $120 on newegg, but that one's out of stock. Though I'm not sure I can use double-height cards.

Ah, price-creep. Yeah. I didn't realize they'd gone that high. 1050 cards can be had for about that price.

Judging by the HP link you provided, it *looks* like a taller cooler won't be much of a problem for you. Your case obviously necessitates the low profile.

You *might* consider a used card, but that comes with its own risks.

Quick question, under any circumstance can the gt 730 ddr5 version use more than 1 gb of vram? I'm going to get one soon and I was wondering if its worth the extra $4. For example, will running old games at high settings put the vram usage over 1 GB?

I'm not sure in what specific circumstance the additional vram is an advantage.

HOWEVER - if it's a case where the 2gb version is using ddr3 instead of gddr5, then everything I've read says to stick with the faster gddr5 one, even if it has less memory.
