Abnormal FPS in Watch_Dogs 2

System Specs :
CPU : i3 4150
GPU : GTX 750Ti
RAM : 8Gb DDR3 Kingston HyperX
HDD : Toshiba 1TB (7200RPM)
MOBO : Asus H81M CS
PSU : Antec BP450S

I play at 1360*768 and 750Ti proved to be a great card for that resolution...untill now.

I can play GTA V at Very high settings + FXAA w/o any advance graphics settings and FPS rarely drops below 57 (with Vsync). Same with other games with locked 60 FPS with High / Ultra settings. But the story is different with Watch Dogs 2. The game stutters every now and then and even with medium settings my pc can't maintain 45 FPS. It drops to low 30s at times. The game is patched to it's latest version and the graphics drivers are up-to-date too. What's the problem then? Is Watch_Dogs 2 also broken like the previous Watch_Dogs

Even if two games look similar or have a similar visual fidelity, that doesn't mean the peformance of both games will scale the same on lower end hardware. Also, there is no such thing as an artificial test that is 100% accurate at giving you real world peformance. Especially once you account for the online aspect of it (servers hosted in different areas of the world with different hardware and specs). Long story short, even if your system looks similar to the minimum specs for Watch Dogs on artificial tests, that doesnt mean you can expect the same peformance of the minimum. Also, barely meeting or just falling short of the minimum requirements should tell you right away that you are going to have trouble playing the game, even on low...

I just looked up the system requirements for Watch Dogs 2 and the minimum CPU is an i5 2400s with a GTX 660. Both your CPU and GPU fall one level below the minimum requirements so unless you decide to run at very low settings I don't know that it will work worth a damn. You could always try to find an i5 4670 on ebay and also grab a GTX 970 and that would get you where you want to be.

Ok so I am back after a long time. I did some research about my current hardware vs minimum system requirements for Watch_Dogs 2.

Minimum Requirements are : i5 2400S, GTX 660, 6 GB RAM

My PC's specs : i3 4150, GTX 750Ti, 8 GB RAM.

Now, i3 4150's passmark score is 4899, while i5 2400S' score is 4901. Not much difference eh? Except i3 has 2 actual + 2 hyper-threaded cores and the i5 has 4 real cores.

Coming to the GPU. Though GTX 750Ti is not as good as GTX 660, it should perform much better at 720p than a GTX 660 would perform at 1080p. (Saying this cause I play at 720p)

I want to hear if Watch Dogs 2 has optimization issues or am I just being a paranoid? Cause there is not much of a difference between GTA V's and Watch Dogs 2's graphical fidelity.

Adding to that, I can run GTA V at Very High Settings ( except Shadow Quality On High) at 50-60 FPS with the CPU and GPU usages in high 70s. Whereas in Watch Dogs 2 even if I turn everything on low the FPS still drops to 35 (With CPU and GPU usage from 90 to 100 %). Why? I mean what is wrong with Ubisoft? Not every gamer is rich to purchase a $300 GPU !!! And even on those, this game gets by with 60 FPS on Very High (not Ultra) Settings . I expect ~80 FPS from those cards (GTX 1060/RX 480) at those settings.

Please note as well the minimum requirements for GTA are lower than the minimum requirements for Watch Dogs 2. That means Watch Dogs 2 is a more demanding game, hardware wise. That makes sense that your performance is not as good on Watch Dogs as compared to GTA...

GTA 5 minimum:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs)
System Memory: 4GB RAM
Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)

Watch Dogs 2 minimum:
Processor: 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400
System Memory: 6GB RAM
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX460 or AMD Radeon HD5850

Some correction...

Watch Dogs 2 minimum requirements:
Processor: Intel i5 2400S / AMD FX 6120
System Memory: 6GB RAM
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870

And to be more specific, I want to know if these minimum requirements are justified considering the visual fidelity of Watch Dogs 2 or the game is just not optimized.

According to google, the game is actually very well optimized for PC. The previous and other games by ubisoft haven't all been ported to PC well. Looks like it's time for an upgrade :) As far as if it's justified, that's up to each individual.

I won't upgrade until I start getting sub 20FPS in lowest possible settings in a bunch of games  . Right now, watch dogs 2 is the only one which is giving me trouble. The problem is that the FPS is not consistent at high preset with medium textures (ranges from 33 to 57) so I get micro stuttering every now and then.
