Hi all,

Just purchased a cooler master Hyper TX3i to OC my i5 3570k

I've been slowly bumping the CPU Ratio up until I got to 4.0ghz.

At this point RealTemp was telling me I was reaching around 75C - 78C after 10 minutes of testing. which is more than I'm willing to go. But I'd like to get to atleast 4.4ghz? Is it the after market cooler that's the problem?

(I tried the famous Hyper 212 Evo but it didn't seem to want to fit into my 1155 Z77 Pro4-M so I returned it - mistake perhaps...)

CPUz is telling me my core voltage is 1.216 though I've got everything set at Auto on the bios apart from the CPU Ratio.

I've had a look at the thermal paste and it seems fine. well spread - no bubbles.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks in advance!

What test are you running? Likely it's the TX3 which isn't really suitable for overclocking in my opinion. The Evo 212 would bring those temps down an additional 8C.

You would also be better off manually setting your Vcore instead of leaving it in AUTO. Likely you could use less Vcore at 4.OGhz then AUTO is providing.

What would you recommend I put it onto?

Start with the 1.200Vcore and see if you are stable. If so, reduce to 1.190 and see if you are stable. Keep lowering to see how low you can go before you are no longer stable then bump it back up.
