Hey so my friend is giving me his old GTX 780 and I currently have a turbolink ATX-XG500W PSU - I would love to not have to buy a new PSU - will it work?
My 780 has a recommended 12v rail of 42A but that only claims 34A. Also this goes to show its junk quality https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/515473-teardown-and-review-of-the-turbolink-atx-xg500w-crappy-psu/

Simple answer ABSOLUTE NO
I recommend you to go 650w GOOD QUALITY PSU, Everyone loves an extra 50w-100w more headroom in their power supply and to reduce load stress on the PSU itself as well.
If you love to not buy a new QUALITY PSU, then prepare yourself for FIRE...
