I inserted the ssd in the M2 slot in my laptop and nothing happens, the BIOS is not recognizing it and nor windows. BIOS is upgraded to the latest version (18.1.17 release) on dell website it says that this laptop suppprts M2 NVMe ssd.
Any suggestions or help will be sincerely appreciated!

Solution
The Dell Vostro 5468 only supports M.2 SATA SSDs as shown in your photo.

Your Intel P600 Series M.2 256GB SSD is an M.2 PCIe SSD and isn't supported by the Dell Vostro 5468.

M.2 SATA SSDs have a SATA controller built onto their circuit board.

M.2 PCIe SSDs don't have or use a SATA controller.
